Plan ahead and set targets!
Everyone can save time and money on their every day travel, but this will
only happen with a little forward planning. We can all make small changes to
our travel patterns that are appropriate to our lifestyle. To help make
those changes you might find it useful to set yourself some targets.
For example:
- For short trips, such as going to the corner store, try walking (go on foot)
- For slightly longer trips, maybe going to work or school, try to go by
cycle once a week (go by cycle)
- Or try to go to work by metro (go by bus)
- Or try ride-sharing with someone, even if it is just once a week (go together)
- if you have to use your car, make a schedule to get it tuned regularly
(go smarter by car)
- for your weekly trips try combining all of your shopping trips, i.e.
trip blending
- or try not making a special shopping trip this week, i.e. trip
reduction
